Operation CU*SWAG

For some good light hearted Friday fun, we bring a story from our friends over at CU*SWAG.  Two weeks ago, 3 CU*SWAG Angels embarked on a journey to spread the credit union love.

They visited 3 cities along the way swagging out credit unions as well as people on the streets.  The entire journey was documented on a micro blog sharing their story. The girls also played some neat "Where's CU*SWAG" games for fun and to get those following along online involved.

In addition, there was a really good blog post that was prompted by an anti-bank silent protest.  It listed 5 thoughts on managing negativity.

1. Employees are the essence of any company.

2. Listen and learn... don't attack.

3. Place people over profits.

4. Be aware of feelings and emotions.

5. Share and offer solutions.

Credit unions can learn from this event to help spread the word about their CUs in the community. Operation CU*SWAG was all about sharing and telling a story. It was spontaneous, organic, conversational and real.

What can your credit union do create buzz and get people talking about you? Shout back and let us know.

This is a great list! Can’t believe this bank isn’t valuing their people. You’ve got it right: “people helping people” philosophy of credit unions AND MOST community banks. It’s the community aspect of living among and helping out your “neighbors” down the street that helps the little guys grow stronger, bigger, and better. Three cheers to a more collaborative and supportive future.
