Small Credit Union, Big Advantage - Strategies that Win

We had the opportunity to attend the New Jersey Credit Union League Annual Meeting and Convention in September.  While were were there we caught up with Jason Boles, after his session on strategies and competitive advantages for small credit unions.  Jason is CEO of Fans Created, an innovative results-oriented speaking, training, and consulting services firm specializing in creating internal and external fans for organizations nationwide.  Mr. Boles has built a solid reputation as an energetic, entertaining, and through-provoking speaker, trainer, and consultant.

Check out the video below as we catch up with Jason and give us a shout on ways your credit union is working to market its strengths.

I would say social media marketing is another way smaller CUs can play to their strengths by embracing their members. The only barrier to entry is the time it takes to formulate a strategic plan and to create content.

A smaller CU can use social media marketing to really get involved with individual members and capitalize on their connections to their local community.

Mr. Boles says in the video that he “likes credit union people. I believe in what we’re doing.” Show members why credit union people are different with the tools available in the social media landscape. Let members and non-members know you care, that you’re listening and you’ll win them over.

Thx for the note Peter! Imagine if you had a CEO of a small credit union tweeting and being transparent with their members. That could totally change the playing field.
